Acknowledging the COVID-19 pandemic’s ongoing disruption to education, the International Baccalaureate will continue to offer a dual route for the November 2021 Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme examination session to ensure that all students can continue to the next step of their learner journey and achieve valid results.
Throughout the pandemic, the IB has been in constant dialogue with schools to understand the challenges for students and teachers. Schools that can safely administer exams will be on the examination route. Those who cannot due to local restrictions will be on the non-examination route. In the non-examination route, students are awarded a grade for each of their registered subjects using a calculation that considers their coursework marks and their quality assured predicted grade.
As of today, roughly 78% of IB World Schools registered for the November 2021 session have indicated that they will administer the exams.
For more details on the November 2021 session, students and teachers are encouraged to talk to their school’s IB coordinator.
