Under this partnership, the DP will be introduced in phases across 65 new full-boarding high schools in Indonesia by 2030.  This collaboration marks a milestone in expanding IB education beyond private institutions to include public and religious schools, ensuring that students from diverse socio-economic backgrounds benefit from international-quality learning.

The partnership was formalized during the IB’s Global Conference in Singapore on March 21st, 2025, underscoring a shared commitment to making IB education more accessible to Indonesian students. This initiative aligns closely with Indonesia’s Asta Citavision, which emphasizes enhancing the quality of education as one of its key priority pillars to prepare a globally competitive and future-ready workforce. By focusing on critical thinking, global perspectives, and future-ready skills, the DP empowers Indonesian youth to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world.

Dirgayuza Setiawan, Chairman and Co-Founder of the Yayasan Pendidikan Kader Bangsa Indonesia, added, “This partnership with the IB is an important step in enhancing the quality and diversity of education in Indonesia. By introducing the IB Diploma Programme to more schools, we are giving our future generations—especially those from underrepresented communities—the opportunity to access an international-quality education and develop the confidence and competence to succeed in a rapidly changing world. By integrating IB programmes into more schools, we are also positioning Indonesia as a leader in international education, attracting global partnerships and investments that will benefit our nation in the long term.”

Olli-Pekka Heinonen, Director General of the IB, said, “The IB is honored to partner with the Kaderbangsa Foundation to expand access to the Diploma Programme in Indonesia. This collaboration reflects our shared belief in providing students with a holistic, high-quality education that equips them with critical thinking, global awareness, and lifelong learning skills. By making the DP accessible to more schools and students, we are supporting Indonesia’s education goals, helping young people prepare for future opportunities, and nurturing them to become compassionate, well-rounded individuals who will make meaningful contributions to their communities and the world.”

Through this collaboration, the IB also will provide ongoing support, including professional development programmes for educators, training for school leaders, access to a global network of IB experts and resources, ensuring the highest pedagogical standards are maintained across all participating schools.
