The International Baccalaureate (IB) will attend the Education World Forum (EWF) in London from 18-21 May 2025—the world’s largest annual gathering of education and skills ministers. As a sponsor and networking partner, the IB will use this opportunity to strengthen collaboration with national education authorities and position itself as a global leader in education transformation.

This year’s forum, titled “From stability to growth: Building stronger, bolder, better education,” will focus on five key themes: stability, equity, quality, innovation, and growth. IB Director General Olli-Pekka Heinonen is scheduled to speak on May 19th, during Day 2 of the event, as part of Plenary Session 1: “How can education systems provide the stability that encourages learning and builds confidence to change?”. He will highlight the importance of stability in education systems, highlighting how strong foundations can empower learners and enable lasting change.
The IB’s presence at EWF reflects its broader commitment to supporting education systems around the world. By engaging with ministers and system-level leaders, the IB aims to build new partnerships and strengthen long-standing collaborations that drive meaningful, scalable change. With decades of experience in delivering rigorous academic programmes, the IB supports education leaders as they navigate evolving challenges and design forward-looking solutions.
This year marks a new chapter in how the IB engages with government stakeholders. Led by Marc Neesam, Head of Education Systems Solutions, the IB will present its evolving role as a strategic partner to governments, with whom we share a joint commitment to enhancing education and improving student outcomes.
EWF offers a vital platform for the IB to engage in global dialogue and share its vision for the future of education.
