Unfolding the future of inclusive education at the IB Global Conference Adelaide 2023

This week, the International Baccalaureate (IB) welcomes educators, experts and school leaders at the IB Global Conference, Adelaide from 18 to 21 March 2023.

Under the theme "Education for an inclusive future", over 1.100 participants from 34 countries will navigate around the evolving educational landscape and the required critical conversations that challenge us to be more open and forward-thinking in our approach to learning and teaching.

Participants will learn from education experts, share their own experiences and engage with the IB community, colleagues and exhibitors worldwide. Among the features, the conference will hold an extensive line-up of inspirational speakers, staff and over 95 peer-to-peer breakout sessions, covering a wide range of the most relevant topics for IB educators and the larger global community. Sessions will focus on new approaches to teaching and learning, educational technology and innovation, inclusive education and well-being, professional applications, scholarly analyses, best practices and case studies.

The Director General of the IB, Mr Olli-Pekka Heinonen will set the stage for conversations with educators from all over the globe, enhancing new and broadening perspectives that benefit access to education, holistic pedagogy and the adoption of technologies. Through these discussions, the global education community can continue empowering an entrepreneurial generation of change-makers who are equipped to redefine their future.

The conference will feature a diverse line-up of powerful and thought-provoking keynote speakers, including:

  • Dr Jane Jarvis – Principal Research Fellow at the Australian Council for Educational Research (ACER), she has worked in both disability and education settings. 
  • Michael McQueen – Multi-award-winning speaker and author of nine books, he is a regular commentator on TV and radio.
  • Dr Helen Street – Co-founder of Positive Schools and the creator of Contextual Wellbeing, she is an educational consultant and applied social psychologist.
