With 120 sessions taking place throughout Lyon Convention Centre, the conference will offer participants opportunities to explore new approaches to IB programmes, learn from leading voices in education and connect with colleagues from across the global IB community.

In an increasingly polarized world, the 2026 conference theme, “Shared Learning, Shared Futures,” highlights the importance of exchanging ideas across different perspectives to help create a better and more peaceful world. IB educators are uniquely positioned to nurture thoughtful dialogue, and create collaborative learning spaces where disagreement can lead to deeper learning, intercultural understanding and respect.

The conference will feature three keynote speakers:

  • Julie Higounet – Educational consultant, keynote speaker and founder of EDHUMAN, Higounet works with schools and educational networks in France and internationally on pedagogical innovation, inclusive learning, AI in education and teacher professional development. Using her experience with IB and international schools, she supports educators in creating evidence-informed learning environments that foster student agency, critical thinking and deep learning.
  • Dr Yuhyun Park – Founder of the DQ Institute and a globally recognized authority on digital skills, ethics, and the digital economy, Dr. Park created the Digital Intelligence (DQ) Framework, the global standard for digital literacy and skills, and continues to shape the global agenda for ethical and future-ready digital societies.
  • Dr Luke Roberts – Applied Complexity Scientist and organisational consultant, Roberts has more than 20 years of experience helping institutions navigate complex challenges, with a particular focus on culture change, community and belonging. His work explores how relational dynamics can support creativity, innovation and learning, including in educational systems.

The IB is proud of its French-speaking heritage and is strengthening its visibility and communication in French to reflect its global, multilingual identity.
