Following a project driven by school requests, Diploma Programme (DP) and Career-related Programme (CP) exam results for the November 2020 session will be released on a new date. For the November 2020 DP and CP examination session, the IB will release results to schools on 17 December 2020.
Since 2017 we have fully investigated the possibility of releasing DP and CP exam results earlier for the November session in response to requests from schools whose students need to make university admission choices.
The project looked at internal processes and surveyed all November session schools to find out their needs around results release, and 84% of the schools who responded said they would like to see the date of results release brought forward.
Following this we brought forward November session results release to 3 January 2019 for the November 2018 examination session. We have continued to explore ways to bring this date forward again. For the November 2020 DP and CP examination session, the IB will release results to schools on 17 December 2020.
By releasing results in December, we can give students more time to meet deadlines for university admissions.
