The event celebrated Houston Independent School District’s IB programmes, featuring student presentations, expert panels, and discussions on IB’s alignment with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). Key sessions focused on IB’s role in college and career readiness, the expansion of the Career-related Programme (CP), and best practices for implementing the IB in Texas schools.

Attendees heard from keynote speaker Yvonne Romero, Vice President of Enrollment Management at Rice University, alongside education experts including Robert Kelty, IB’s Head of Development for the U.S. and Canada, and representatives from Houston ISD and Texas IB Schools.

Breakout sessions provided in-depth insights into the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP), Diploma Programme (DP), and Career-related Programme (CP), as well as discussions on IB authorization, professional learning, and university recognition.

IB Day Texas strengthened connections among educators, state legislators, and school leaders, while demonstrating IB’s growing role in expanding access to high-quality, internationally recognized education in the state.
