The International Baccalaureate (IB) is pleased to celebrate a golden milestone with the announcement of its 50th authorized IB World School in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai International Academy (DIA) – Al Barsha, to offer the Diploma Programme (DP).
Throughout the last decade, the IB has grown from strength to strength in the UAE, with triple the number of schools now offering an IB programme than in 2010. As a result, the UAE now has the highest density of IB World Schools in one area. This is excellent news for IB development and serves as a great milestone in which to start the new decade.
In recognition of this growth, the UAE Ministry for Education recently released new recognition guidelines for the DP. The programme is now regarded to be of equal merit of the Ministry’s Secondary School Certificate. The IB is pleased to announce that in addition to this, the UAE Ministry of Education has been added to its results service. This will allow the Ministry to access students’ results in July rather than wait for the hard copies to arrive in September 2020.
The IB congratulates Dubai International Academy - Al Barsha for completing authorization for the DP.
