Steven Kim joined the IB Board of Governors in April 2017, having been an external member of the Audit committee since 2015.
He is currently a partner at Verdis Investment Management, a member of Verdis’ executive committee and Portfolio Manager of Verdis’ Buyout and Venture Capital funds. As a member of the Verdis investment committee, he has been responsible for approving investments in over 60 fund managers globally across public and private markets.
Mr Kim has more than 30 years’ experience building, implementing and managing operating infrastructures for public and private companies. He has also assisted venture capital and private equity-backed firms with implementing and improving operating, technology and client service organizations, and assisting with pre-funding operational diligence and assessment.
Mr Kim began his career at the Walt Disney Company, as a member of the information technology team that helped open what is now Disneyland Paris. He has helped build and lead the technology development and service delivery organizations at Alliance Data Systems, Peopleclick, Clear Communications, Alcatel, Fujitsu and Daleen Technologies. While at Fujitsu and Alcatel, Mr Kim was a member of the SONET Interoperability Forum, developing networking standards and distributed management software for the world’s largest carriers. He joined Daleen following their IPO and led the effort to re-architect their flagship product around multi-tenant SaaS.
Mr Kim earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Central Florida.
