Babatunde Onitiri

Alongside his work as member of the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Board of Governors, Tunde Onitiri is a Senior Country Manager for the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector arm of the World Bank Group.

Babatunde OnitiriHe oversees all of IFC’s operations in Singapore, in addition to managing relationships with key government and private sector partners. He is also responsible for developing investment projects with Singapore and Malaysia-based companies.

Prior to joining IFC, Tunde was an Assistant Director at Emerging Markets Partnership in Washington D.C. and a key member of the team that managed the AIG African Infrastructure Fund.

He also spent eight years with InterGen, structuring and executing complex infrastructure finance transactions in Latin America, the U.S. and Turkey. During this time, Tunde was based in London, Miami, and Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi UFJ in New York. 

Tunde holds an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School, an MA in East Asia Studies from the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania, an MS in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University, and a BA in Engineering Science and Economics from Oxford University.   

He also attended the International University of Japan in Niigata, Japan, as a Japanese Government (Monbusho) Scholar, and has studied Japanese at The Middlebury College Language School in Vermont. 

Tunde served on the boards of United World Colleges International and the American International School in Mozambique, an IB World School. Tunde is married with two teenage boys who have been in the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP).
