For the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), there are two examination sessions each year. These are in May and November.
For the May session, results are issued on 5 July. DP and CP Results are released on the candidate website from 12.00 GMT on 6 July for May exam sessions.
For November exam sessions, results are released from 13.00 in the school’s local time zone on 2 January. For example, students who took exams in November 2018 will receive their results in January 2019. Results are released at staggered time intervals based on time zone. If you are unsure of the time that your results will be released, please contact your programme coordinator. To view the actual time results will be released, a candidate can do the following:
- Refer to the Individual PIN report provided by the school’s DP/CP coordinator
- Select the Results tab on the candidate website
- Contact the school’s DP/CP coordinator for further information
If the course coordinator allows them to do so, students can access their own results via the IB’s candidate results website.
They will be able to do so one day after results are issued: on 6 July for the May session and 3 January for the November session.
In each examination session, about 80% of DP students are awarded the diploma. The IB has summaries of previous DP exam sessions, including comparisons with previous years.
You can also read about grading in each DP subject group [PDF, 238KB].
Requesting that exams are remarked
After the results have been issued, schools can request re-marks for particular students if they feel the result is undeserved.
Schools can also receive a range of different types of feedback on their students' performance. If you wish to do so, please contact us.
Distributing grades to universities
As soon as results are released, the IB is able to distribute grades to universities around the world.
Requesting DP transcripts and certificates
The International Baccalaureate® (IB) provides an official transcript of grades for the DP. Before results are released, students can request to have results sent to six universities free of charge – and request to pay for additional transcripts as well.
Meet alumni making a difference
To celebrate the IB’s 50th anniversary, we’d like you to meet some of our alumni who graduated from the IB Diploma Programme and went on to report from war zones, change the lives of refugees, create beautiful music, and soar through space.
Join the IB's global alumni network
The IB is extremely proud of its graduates, and the alumni network connects them with one another and with the IB community.
Members of the alumni network receive a quarterly newsletter, as well as opportunities to connect with graduates from all over the world.
Students who will graduate in the next two years are encouraged to join.
