To increase global access to the Diploma Programme (DP), the IB provides two different opportunities for online education – individual online DP courses and the online DP pilot.
Students at any IB World School (IBWS) can follow individual DP courses online if their preferred subject is not available at their school. Additionally, in 2022 the IB launched a fully online DP pilot, giving students the opportunity to complete the whole DP online.
Online DP courses
Pamoja collaborates with the IB to develop and deliver a broad range of authorized DP online subjects. These courses support IB students completing their DP education at authorized IBWS.
Online DP pilot
The online DP pilot allows IB students and non-IB students to complete the full DP remotely. The IB works with selected pilot partner organizations to deliver a fully online DP and empower students to thrive in their learning journey who are unable to access a brick-and-mortar IBWS.
