The math that I studied in the Diploma Programme (PD) was extremely useful, since I decided to study business administration. During the first two years of college, practically all of the content of the material related to math had been covered by the DP, which really helped me to advance in the degree.

I have been playing amateur field hockey since I was seven years old at the Belgrano Athletic Club in Argentina. I was at a campus that trained at least twice a week and played matches every Saturday. The DP in no way prevented me pursuing sports, and I instead was able to balance it with my studies.

I did the business administration program at Universidad Católica Argentina (UCA), where I graduated with an honor’s diploma in 2009. I worked at consumer goods companies for seven years. Then, I moved to Shanghai (China) in 2015, where I completed a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) at the HULT International Business School. I met professionals from all over the world there.

One of the main benefits of the DP is the study methodology that I learned while I was very young, which really helped me during my university education. I developed critical thinking in order to analyze problems in an organized and coherent way. My thesis really helped me when I did the MBA, as I had to write lots of essays and I already had prior experience and knew how to correctly cite sources and how to structure my writing. I also learned the value of summarizing, the ability to study a large amount of content, to think critically and to solve problems.

The IB really prepared me for the professional challenges that have arisen over the course of my career. It is worth making the effort to really prepare yourself well for the program, because some skills remain with you forever. You learn to think in a different way and to gain another perspective, which in my case have helped me to be successful in all of the challenges that I have undertaken.
