Who can offer the Diploma Programme?

Last updated:

Schools all over the world offer the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme (DP), from state-supported schools to independent and international schools.

The programme’s flexibility and strong reputation have made it suitable for use in a number of regional and national systems. Find out more about how the IB works with governments to extend the reach of our programmes, including the DP.

What’s the process for implementing the DP?

Any school with students aged 16 to 19 can apply to implement the DP – but to begin teaching the programme, schools must successfully complete an authorization process.

The IB supports schools in building the understanding and organizational structures it will need to implement the DP.
