Career-related Studies (CRS)

The Microsoft Corporation and the International Baccalaureate (IB) cooperation provides the opportunity for Microsoft Skills Learning Path (MSLP) courses to be the Career-related study component of the Career-related Programme (CP) in IB World Schools globally.

Under the cooperation between the IB and Microsoft, students taking the CP are now eligible to take on two programmes as their Career Related studies (CRS).

The CP student will have to undertake these two programmes within the duration of the two-year CP, to fulfill the requirements for their Career-related Study (CRS):

Microsoft Skills Modules (MSLP) Part A

The first programme will consist of one of the following: MSLP AI, Coding or Data Science courses. Any one of them can be taken as a track.

These programmes enable the future workforce to acquire Coding, Artificial Intelligence (AI) or Data Sciences skills early in high school and build a solid foundation to be industry ready.

What students will learn

• Build computational thinking and develop problem-solving skills.
• Improve critical thinking and exposure to real-life situations to solve problems.
• Design thinking and basic programming skills.
• Students will build capabilities in areas of AI, Coding, and Data Sciences, and be able to apply the concepts in real-life scenarios
• The students will also develop competencies in specific tech areas if they take up Certifications such as MS Azure/Data/Ai/Security Fundamentals. They could explore any of the eight MS Fundamental areas as listed on the MS Learn platform. 

Microsoft Certifications under MSLP Part B

The second programme will consist of Microsoft Fundamental Certifications. Microsoft strongly recommends students undertake at least two programmes of the Microsoft Fundamental Certifications, given that these courses are designed to work in tandem with each other.

Structure

1. CP students will get access to online training on Microsoft Learn.
2. CP schools determine at least two certifications that are right for them and start learning. Microsoft Certifications cover technical topics from Azure to AI, to data analytics and cybersecurity.

• Through this, Microsoft shall empower, enable and encourage students from the CP to gain expertise in new technologies through training and appear for certification exams leading to industry-recognized Microsoft certification. 
• Microsoft Learn provides self-paced, digital learning resources to build technology skills and understanding.
