As the IB turns 50 this year, it shines a spotlight on the IB Educator Network (IBEN) which supports professional development throughout the organization.
Matthew Thomas, Vice-Dean of International Education at Ritsumeikan Uji Junior and Senior High School in Uji, Japan, explains to IB World editor Sophie-Marie Odum how IBEN offers learning opportunities for both members of the network and educators they work with. "In my view, IBEN is what makes the IB unique. It also helps account for much of the loyalty teachers have for the IB", Thomas says.
