The International Baccalaureate® (IB) Africa, Europe and Middle East is one of three regional offices at the IB, working with over 900 schools in more than 80 countries.
The regional office is responsible for authorizing new schools implementing the IB’s programmes of education evaluating IB World Schools, providing professional development services to schools across the region and ensuring that the IB’s programme are recognized by governments and universities.

The IB provides face-to-face and online workshops, webinars, blended learning and e-learning resources, and our professional development is suitable for educators with a range of needs and expertise.
Once per year, the IB brings together educational professionals from across Africa, Europe and the Middle East at our regional conference.
Programmes and become an IB school
The IB has four programmes:
- the Primary Years Programme (PYP), for students aged 3-12
- the Middle Years Programme (MYP), for students aged 11-16
- the Diploma Programme (DP), for students aged 16-19
- the IB Career-related Programme (CP), for students aged 16-19.

Associations of IB World Schools
Associations of IB World Schools (AIBWS) are groups, formed by school practitioners of the IB, which provide mutual support to the community of IB World Schools.
AIBWS are an indispensable resource for schools considering candidacy with IB, offer a wealth of IB experience and support in all IB programmes. AIBWS are often active at district, state or government level.
