AEM regional conference
In 2015, the International Baccalaureate® (IB) Africa, Europe, Middle East regional conference will take place from 29 October - 1 November 2015. It will be held at the World Forum, in The Hague, the Netherlands.
The conference will look at topical themes in international education, including: ICT and education; literacy, language and education; school leadership; planning and governance; and differentiated learning.
A valuable networking opportunity, the event also provides professional development experiences. After last year’s event 98.5% of attendees said they would recommend the conference to a colleague.
The majority of participants are IB educators, school coordinators and heads.
IB Heads World Conference
For the first time, the IB is holding one global event combining two conferences: this regional conference, and the IB Heads World Conference. They will take place concurrently, at the World Forum.
The IB Heads World Conference is designed for heads of school at authorized or candidate IB World Schools, whilst the regional conference has a broader remit: IB coordinators, teachers, and external academics.
The two conferences will bring together members of the IB community to share and learn from each other’s experiences. They are the ideal forum for discussion between educators, heads of school, coordinators and university and government representatives, allowing the community to share their experiences and views on the subject of international education.
The conferences will share keynote speakers, an exhibition area and a welcome reception, giving participants the opportunity to network and discuss their experiences. Each conference will have its own featured speakers, academic programme and social activities. Each has its own pre-conference, consisting of full-day long workshops.
Although each conference caters to its specific audience, limiting cross over, the conferences’ shared activities allow for a unique opportunity for both audiences to collaborate. The IB Heads World Conference will focus on leadership, with the conference theme “IB Shaping the World” catering to Heads of schools; whilst the regional conference focuses on teaching and learning and the conference theme “Educating for Life”, offering a broader remit for IB coordinators, teachers, and external academic participants.
The IB Heads World Conference will officially close Saturday evening – but participants of the IB Heads World Conference are welcome to join the regional conference sessions scheduled for Sunday morning.
