Coronavirus update, Cancellation of IB Global Conference, Bangkok
Information about the outbreak of novel coronavirus (2019-nCoV) in China, and its spread to other areas of the world is evolving rapidly. The IB is closely monitoring the situation and taking actions aimed at keeping our community safe and healthy. We understand that the situation for many of our community is very difficult at present and wish to offer our empathy and support during this time.

IB Global Conference, Bangkok
In view of the escalating novel coronavirus outbreak, and as a matter of safety and precaution, it is with regret that the IB Global Conference due to be held in Bangkok 17-19 March has been cancelled. This was a difficult decision to make as we know how much our community values these opportunities to come together under our shared mission of education for a better world, but our priority is to help keep our community safe and healthy. Our IB Assessment division is reviewing the situation closely and is taking action to support schools impacted by closures whilst also maintain the validity of IB assessments. Schools in Hong Kong SAR China, Mainland China, Macau and Mongolia have been offered an extension to the first eCoursework deadline and we will continue to review further deadlines as the situation evolves. We have also taken further action to postpone professional development workshops and IB related events in Hong Kong SAR China, Mainland China and Macau.
