The documents on this page include critical information about the process of becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School.

These are sample documents only, for schools that wish to review their contents before completing them online. Schools work with the appropriate IB regional office to receive access to the online applications when they are ready to complete them.

While the documents below support the process, the first step—if you haven’t already—is to request more information.

In 2020, the IB published newly revised Programme standards and practices (PSP 2020). The revised Programme standards and practices reflect a fundamental shift to continuous holistic programme development and planning. The PSP 2020 are now being used by authorized IB World Schools for the evaluation process. Schools who apply for candidacy after 1 August 2022, will use the revised Programme standards and practices as the basis of the authorization process.

Schools applying on or before 1 August 2022 should use resources and professional development tagged "for schools applying for candidacy before 1 August 2022".

Schools applying for candidacy after 1 August 2022 should use resources and professional development tagged "for schools applying for candidacy after 1 August 2022".
