Find an IB World School

The IB in

Response to world events

Recent events around the world, including unrest in several countries and the devastating effects of earthquakes in New Zealand and Japan and the resulting tsunami make it imperative that coordinators contact the IB if candidates for May or November 2011 examination sessions are significantly impacted.

When an IB World School is affected by such serious circumstances, there can be some relaxation of early deadlines and the possibility of transferring candidates to other IB World Schools. We understand that these are very difficult times for those people involved and the IB will do its best to support all those schools that have been affected, while maintaining the integrity of our assessment process.

Our thoughts are with all those people around the world who have been impacted by these events. If you require more information about the IB procedures for dealing with such events, please contact ibid@ibo.org.
