Description

Pulaski International School of Chicago is a public neighborhood school on Chicago's North Side.  Pulaski, which serves a diverse population of approximately 850 PreK - 8 students in the vibrant Bucktown neighborhod, is a PYP and MYP candidate school.  We at Pulaski - the students, the faculty and staff, the parents, and the surrounding community - seek a leader who will guide and inspire us as we work toward a shared goal: to continue to develop a high-performing IB school that thoughtfully prepares our children for college and career readiness and international mindedness.  Pulaski has an outstanding foundation.  We have dedicated teachers hired specifically to teach IB who thrive in a collaborative environment.  We have active parental involvement.  We have the attention and support of the Bucktown community.  In short - we are a school with unlimited potential for growth.  We welcome hardworking, motivated candidates who will sustain this foundation and help us work toward our vision of becoming a preeminent IB school.

Candidates should possess the following:

- a strong commitment to ensure that the requirements, principles, and practices of the PYP and MYP are met;

- experience with data-driven instruction and the implementation of backwards design;

- knowledge of pedagogical leadership, facilities management, internal accounts management, and information management systems;

- a positive attitude which conveys genuine concern for the school community; a demeanor which encourages and facilitates meaningful, effective interaction between school and home; a manner of action that commands respect, inspires trust, and leads by example.
