Are you a fully qualified teacher with an early childhood education specialism? Do you enjoy advocating for young children and supporting them in their learning?
If so, the Department of Education Services is interested in receiving an application from you to become a reception teacher for our new reception classes for August 2012. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to work within the government schools to create exemplary environments and facilitate learning using the new Cayman Islands Early Years Curriculum Framework.
The required qualifications, experience and skills include the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject from a recognized institution
• Early years teaching qualification
• Minimum of 2 years, post qualification, professional experience in in early years settings with a demonstrated track record of successful teaching and learning
• Prior experience of teaching in a child-centred learning environment with an emphasis on an activity-based approach with differentiation for individual abilities is essential
• Experience of IB would be an advantage
