Description

Kristiansand is located at the extreme southern tip of Norway, it is on a ferry route to Denmark and direct flight routes to Copenhagen, Amsterdam and other large Norwegian towns such as Oslo, Stavanger and Bergen. KIS is looking for an experienced MYP coordinator/teacher. The job at KIS includes 50% teaching 50% coordination. Our school was authorized in December 2011. The successful applicant will have evidence of leadership and administration skills. The position will suit a person who enjoys holistic learning through interdisciplinary units, values contructivist pedagogy, and has a keen interest in developing vertical articulation with PYP colleagues. The ability to train MYP staff would also be an asset. KIS is a small school currently with only 70 students across grade levels 1-10. A new facility is due to open in August 2014 and will provide space for approximately 200 students. Currently the school has 3 PYP and 3 MYP mixed grade level classes. The IB MYP coordinator is a leader for learning in grades 6-10, responsible for the IB MYP curriculum, and would be expected to be part of the school's small leadership team. In addition to IB MYP experience, IB MYP training and proven leadership and adminstration skills the candidate needs excellent inter-personal and communication skills and  appropriate teacher and academic qualifications.
