Position Announcement

Principal
Lafayette Park International (IB) Elementary School

Length of Contract: 215 days
Salary: Commensurate with training and experience

Major Responsibilities:
• Lead, support, and administer an elementary International Baccalaureate (IB) educational program in a manner that maximizes student learning through the entire K-5 international school experience
• Effectively support and evaluate IB teachers to provide students with diverse learning opportunities using real-world projects and experiences with a global focus
• Work with teachers in revising curriculum to meet IB requirements
• Involve parents effectively in their child’s international school experience in a manner that enables parents to be active participants in supporting the child’s learning
• Create an effective instructional setting by establishing high expectations while providing the necessary mix of support and discipline for all members of the school to achieve at a high level of learning

Qualifications:
• Valid Indiana Principal’s License
• Successful teaching/administrative experience in an international school setting
• Knowledge of and/or experience with the IB authorization process
• Knowledge of IB teaching techniques and methods which are proven to increase student learning and achievement
• Ability to build relationships to develop and maintain a collaborative, professional school
• Commitment to quality education for all children
• Strong skills in interpersonal communication and collaboration
• Applicant must be able to provide evidence of training and/or experience appropriate for the expected level of performance
