IB programme: Diploma Programme, since 2006
Inside its medieval walls, a school that dates back to 1877 is proving to have a thoroughly modern approach to education. St Leonards School and Sixth Form College is one of the first in Scotland to offer its students the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Our school has embraced the IB Diploma Programme, replacing A levels in a pioneering move that sets us apart from our peers.

Since the first sixth-form students embarked on the programme in September 2006, there has been a real buzz of excitement around the college, which is set in a secure campus in the centre of the thriving university town of St Andrews. The sixth form at St Leonards has become an international community of learning.
The IB will give our students a lifelong love of learning as well as the respect for themselves and others that they need in the 21st Century.
