Activities and responsibilities

To develop strategies, policies and procedures for the provision of PD services, resources and information.

This includes managing:

  • a teacher award scheme
  • the licensing of school consultants and partner organizations
  • a quality assurance and quality audit system
  • the coordination of PD-related communications
  • systems for efficient and effective data collection and analysis
  • the establishment and maintenance of alliances with other like-minded organizations.

To ensure that teachers have access to high-quality PD resources and services.

This includes :

  • developing and/or collecting PD resources for teachers and school administrators and coordinating their distribution
  • providing online services and resources for teachers, workshop leaders, examiners, school administrators and IB staff
  • supporting regional offices with resource-rich, on-line environments and administrative services.

To work in collaboration with the programme development division and regional office staff to develop a community of practice as well as a culture of lifelong learning and reflective methodology among IB teachers worldwide.
