MYP Workshops in Mandarin

Tianjin Experimental High School, 5 - 7 May 2006

This is the second time MYP workshops are conducted in

Mandarin. Fifty-five participants from ten schools in China

attended the three-day workshops: Humanities, Sciences,

Mathematics and Physical Education.

MYP Network Meeting – Coordinators from Chinese Schools

Tianjin Experimental High School, 8 May 2006

Tianjin Experimental High School hosted the first MYP Network Meeting of Coordinators from Chinese Schools. Coordinators/representatives from all of the eight MYP Chinese schools attended the meeting. MYP implementation in Chinese schools was the focus of the discussion. During the meeting, Coordinators shared experience and good practices. Many thanks to Tianjin Experimental High School for facilitating this meeting.

国际文凭亚太区域中学项目研讨会及中国学校协调员会议

国际文凭组织亚太区域中学项目教师研讨会于5月5-7日在天津实验中学召开。 国际文凭组织官员和天津市教委领导出席了开幕式。 来自全国8个地区10所学校的55名中学项目一线教师参加了培训。 教师们就教学过程中的实际问题和“如何将中学项目与中国基础教育课程 改革有机融合”展开了热烈地研讨。

5月8日来自中国学校的中学项目协调员就中学项目在中国的实施和发展进行了更加深入的探讨。此次活动得到了天津实验中学和天津市教育主管部门的大力支持和协助。

Schools Visit

Wang Hong visited Xiamen International School for its DP authorization on 6 - 8 March 2006.

Wang Hong and Laurie Ince paid a DP authorization visit to Manila Xiamen International School on 9 - 12 April 2006.

Others

Wang Hong went to Singapore for the staff meeting on 5 - 7 April. She also attended the Global Language Convention which was held immediately after the staff meeting.

Many teachers from IB schools in China attended the first Global Language Convention on 8-10 April, during which they had many opportunities to share the challenges of language learning and providing successful bilingual programmes with IB teachers from other countries worldwide.
