Earn teacher credits

In collaboration with Kent State University, IB examiners who meet certain eligibilities are able to gain US teacher credit hours for work completed as an examiner.

In order to be eligible for credits, examiners must complete all training elements within a component between 1 January and the start of marking for that component as well as successfully mark or /moderate at least a standard target of candidate responses for the same component during a May examination session.

It is possible to earn either two or three credit hours. Two credit hours are available to examiners who complete training and mark in one component. Three credit hours are available for examiners who complete training and mark for two components. In addition, there is a $220 fee per credit hour as well as a reflective written assignment from Kent State to complete the credit requirements.

Examiners that complete the training and marking requirements will be contacted with the opportunity to register after the May examination session is complete.
