Regional Associations in North America and the Caribbean

IB regional associations are groups formed by and for IB school practitioners. These groups exist to assist area schools with the development of IB programs and to provide a forum for dialogue. They also support authorized and interested IB World Schools with issues of application, implementation and beyond. Many associations offer orientation and training workshops.

There are currently more than 20 regional associations in North America. Launched as informal gatherings of teachers from nearby schools, the regional associations have become effective lobbyists for support and recognition by state, province, and university authorities.

Many of these regional associations have evolved into formal non-profit organizations with boards of directors, by-laws, regular schedules of conferences, and, in some cases, sponsorship of professional teacher training. Regional associations are bound to the IB by informal agreement, but exist as independent entities created to benefit IB schools, teachers and students.

These groups and their individual members are an indispensable resource for schools inquiring about IB. Individual members serve as officers and committee members of their association, educate others about IB, and form a powerful public relations network.

This webpage offers a wealth of continually updated information, including training calendars and contact information, for all regional groups.

Following is a listing of all regional associations in North America.
