The first IB global convention for teachers and educators will be held in Singapore 8–10 April 2006. The focus will be on Language Policies and Practice including:
1. Second language and Additional language Teaching Models
2. Fostering Additive Language Acquisition
3. Mother tongue maintenance/support

The 21st IB Asia-Pacific annual regional conference for Administrators and Coordinators will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 6–9 October 2006. The theme of the 2006 conference will be:
