The Professional Development Team would like to take this opportunity to formally introduce ourselves to the IB Americas’ community.  The Professional Development Department strives to support the professional growth of all its IB educators and administrators.  Our staff members are located in Bethesda, MD, United States and Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Margot HoerrnerMargot Hoerrner joined the IB in August 2010 as the Head of Professional Development in the Americas.  Margot sits in the Bethesda office.  In her time at the IB, Margot has visited schools in Peru, Argentina, Chile, and multiple locations in the United States.  She will be visiting schools in Ecuador and various locations in the United States in 2011. Margot is currently working on revising policies to help streamline professional development activities throughout the Americas region, and one of her top priorities is to increase face time at workshops, school visits, and other IB activities so that the IB community can get to know our team.


Jeanine LittrelJeanine Littrel joined the IB in October 2009 as the Conference and Events Associate Manager and was promoted in May 2010 as the Conference and Events Manager in the Americas. She relocated from New York with the IB, and she sits in the Bethesda office.  Over the past year, Jeanine has spearheaded the implementation of the IBA travel policy and procedure as well as recruited, hired and trained the new conference team members. In 2011 and onward she will lead the contracting and logistics for the Conference of Americas. Jeanine continues to streamline IB Americas conference logistical processes and cross train the events team on all the regions various workshops in order to provide the best learning experience for IB stakeholders.


Joy LambrightJoy Lambright is the Conference and Events Associate Manager and has been with IBA for 13 years. Joy sits in the Bethesda office.  Previous to working at IBA, Joy's background included working in the hospitality and training industry.  In her spare time, Joy enjoys travel and theater.


Elizabeth HubleyElizabeth Hubley joined the IB in August 2010 as the Professional Development Associate Manager in the Americas.  Elizabeth sits in the Bethesda office.  Elizabeth coordinates In-school workshops and addresses professional development Spanish language inquiries.  She traveled to Mexico City for the PYP and MYP regional workshops and has attended In-school workshops in the US and Mexico.

 

 


 

EmilyEmily Unrue joined the IB in August 2010. She serves as the Professional Development Associate in the Americas.  Emily sits in the Bethesda office.  She serves as the primary point of contact for all questions relating to the IBA Professional Development web pages and marketing, and she also coordinates the District workshops in North America.  Emily was in her school’s first graduating class with the IB Diploma. 


Elizabeth DwerryhouseElizabeth Dwerryhouse joined the IB in May 1982 when the regional office for Latin America opened.  Elizabeth Dwerryhouse sits in the Buenos Aires office.  Elizabeth had many different responsibilities since she started and has been a Conference and Events Coordinator for the last three years. She is currently coordinating the logistics of PYP, MYP and Diploma programme workshops in Latin America and starting to co-coordinate workshops in North America.  Elizabeth is married to an IB Economics teacher, has a daughter who did the MYP and the Diploma, and a son who did the PYP and is now doing the Diploma: a truly IB family.


Luciana PamioLuciana Pamio joined the IB in May 2010 as Conference Coordinator in the Americas.  Luciana sits in the Buenos Aires office.  In her time at IB, Luciana has coordinated workshops in Chile, Ecuador, Colombia, Mexico, Peru and the US. Luciana is an IB Diploma graduate from the United World College of the Atlantic.


Kate FitzgeraldKate Fitzgerald joined the IB in August 2010 as a Conference and Events Coordinator in the Americas.  Kate sits in the Bethesda office.  While at IB, Kate has organized and provided onsite support for regional and district workshops, including: Denver, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Memphis.  Kate looks forward to continuing to meeting and work with IB educators; experiencing first hand their passion for students and IB education.


Deborah MaldonadoDeborah Maldonado joined the IB in August 2010 as a Conference and Events Coordinator in the Americas..  Deborah sits in the Bethesda office.  In her time at the IB, Deborah has planned workshops in Orlando, Los Angeles, Montreal, New Orleans and Vancouver. Besides event planning, Deborah also enjoys interior decorating and learning to cook new and creative dishes.  


Camila SalvadorCamila Salvador joined the IB in July 2007 as an Events Officer for IB Latin America. Camila sits in the Buenos Aires office.  Her position has undergone transformations throughout the years, and she is now serving as Travel and Events coordinator for IB Americas. Camila is currently studying Psychology at the University of Buenos Aires.


Laura MacFieLaura MacFie joined the IB in August 2010 as the Travel and Events Coordinator for the Americas.  Laura sits in the Bethesda office. She is a graduate of James Madison University.  Laura also coaches a girls Varsity Lacrosse team at a local IB high school.

Lauren Smith joined the IB in October 2011 as the Conference & Registrar Administrator for the Americas. Lauren sits in the Bethesda office. She is a graduate of the Howard University School of Business. Lauren enjoys decorating, traveling, and crafts projects.
