Volunteer performance management policy

As part of the IB quality assurance policy, volunteers are evaluated after each assignment. Performance management procedures may be
initiated if:

• A volunteer violates the conditions set forth in the volunteer declaration (included in the volunteer services assignment information packet) for volunteer assignments.
• A volunteer violates the terms of the acceptance and release agreement.
• A verified and substantiated complaint is lodged against a volunteer by any outside agency or person.
• A volunteer fails to arrive for an IB assignment.
• A volunteer cancels his assignment at the last minute. 
• A volunteer uses IB proprietary documents, materials or logos except those authorized for use in their assignment.
• A workshop leader's evaluations score an average of less than 2.5.
• A workshop leader receives consistently poor comments in the written feedback.

The IB values the dedication and participation of every volunteer and will openly work together with the volunteer and IB staff to resolve or correct any issues that may arise in regard to their IB assignment.

The online volunteer database

Volunteers may obtain a username and password for the online database from our volunteer services department via email or by phone at +1 646 315 9719. If you are a new volunteer and would like to participate in assignments or training in the Americas region, please click on the "Apply Online" section of the site to begin the process.
