Electronic IB Transcripts for Universities in Canada and the United States
Some universities have elected to receive International Baccalaureate (IB) transcripts electronically. Your signed transcript request form and payment (if applicable) must be sent by mail to IB New York, even if the transcript is delivered electronically to a university.
Please note the following:
- Electronic transcripts are available to universities as soon as they are processed by the IB Americas office in New York and may be re-downloaded by the receiving institution numerous times.
- Each institution decides on their own individual IB recognition policy and may have criteria for determining credit (i.e. minimum scores, higher level IB courses only, etc.) The failure to award credit or placement does not mean your transcript has not been received.
- Please check with the university in question to ensure they have downloaded your scores. Give them all of your particulars – full name, exam session month/year(s), birth date, and so on. If they have downloaded your scores, credit for IB diplomas and certificates will be applied in due course according to the university's policy.
- Universities that download transcripts only have access to records for the past five years. This means that if you graduated in May 2004 or earlier, your transcript will be mailed to the university even if they are on the electronic list.

When contacting us, please include the following:
- Your full name as it appears on your IB diploma or certificate
- Full name of your high school and its location (city, state, country)
- Date when exam(s) were taken (May or November and year)
- Date of birth
- Session code or personal code (if available)
- Full name of the university you are inquiring about
Transcript requests are processed in the order in which they are received. Please allow 10-14 business days for your transcript to arrive at the university that you requested.
