How do I place an order? 

I am an IB World School

Set up your IB store account

  • First you will need to create an account using the My Account facility. If you need help with this then please contact sales@ibo.org or telephone +44 29 2054 7746
  • After you have created your account contact sales@ibo.org if you want to place orders on your ‘IB account’, your email must include your: school name, IB school code, your name and position held at the school. We will validate your request within 48 hours. The next time you place an order the ‘IB account’ option will be displayed on the payment option screen

To place an order

  • Click on the 'My Account' link and sign in using your email address and password
  • Before starting your order you must select your IB assigned payment currency in the top right hand corner of the page. If you do not know what this is please contact your co-ordinator or sales@ibo.org
  • Browse catalogue sections on the left hand side of the page or use the search facility
  • Add items to your cart
  • When you have completed your browsing Click on ‘Cart contents’ and review your order
  • Continue to checkout
  • Stage 1: check/change delivery information and add any comments to the order (if necessary)
  • Stage 2: choose payment option from: IB account, purchase order or credit card and add any comments to the order (if necessary)
  • Stage 3: review order carefully and change if necessary
  • Stage 4: confirm your order
  • Your order is now complete and an order confirmation page should be displayed on screen. You will also receive an email confirmation of the order and be able to monitor it through the ‘My Account’ facility
  • We will email you to confirm when you order has been despatched

My school is not yet authorized by the IB

I wish to use a purchase order.

Set up your IB store account

  • Create an account using the ‘My Account’ facility. If you need help with this then please contact sales@ibo.org or telephone +44 29 2054 7746

  • To activate the ‘online purchase order’ facility, contact sales@ibo.org and request that this facility is added to your account. Please include your name and address in the email so that we can identify your account. We will activate this option within 48 hours and the next time you place an order after this time, the ‘purchase order” option will be displayed on the payment option screen.

To place an order

  • Click on the ‘My Account’ link and sign in using your email address and password
  • Before starting your order, please select your payment currency in the top right-hand corner of the page

  • Browse catalogue sections on the left-hand side of the page or use the search facility.
  • Add items to your cart
  • When you have completed your browsing click on ‘Cart contents’ and review your order
  • Continue to checkout
  • Stage 1: check/change delivery information and add any comments to the order (if necessary)
  • Stage 2: check/change billing information. Choose the ‘online purchase order’ payment option and include your purchase order reference number. Add any comments to the order (if necessary)
  • Stage 3: review order carefully and change if necessary
  • Stage 4: confirm your order
  • Your order is now complete and an order confirmation page should be displayed on screen. You will also receive an email confirmation of the order and be able to monitor it through the ‘My Account’ facility
  • We will email you to confirm when you order has been dispatched. Invoicing will take place after this point.

The item I want is out of stock, what can I do?

  • You will be informed if an item is out of stock at the ‘Cart contents’ page. You will need to remove any item that is out of stock from you cart in order to complete your order
  • Information on when new stock will be arriving is included on the product page

How do I pay for my order?

You have a number of options depending on who you are. An outline of the options can be found below. If you have any queries then please contact sales@ibo.org in advance of placing your order.

On account

  • Available to IB World Schools only
  • This facility can only be activated on request, once the school’s account has been set up and email sent to sales@ibo.org containing: school name, IB school code, your name and position held at the school. We will validate your request within 48 hours. The next time you place and order the ‘IB account’ option will be displayed on the payment option screen

Purchase Order

  • Available to schools, school district/board’s, companies and organizations.
  • Please note: not to be used for personal orders, please use the credit card option for these

Credit Card

  • We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Maestro (UK only), Solo and JCB. All payments are processed via our secure payment services provider SECPay
  • The online ordering system runs on a secure server to ensure that all data is encrypted before it is sent across the public Internet. The secure server uses secure sockets layer (SSL), which is a security protocol that provides communications privacy over the Internet. The level of encryption used is High-Grade 128 bit encryption.

How much will my postage cost?

  • This is calculated by destination and value of the order. All orders are shipped from the UK.
  • Customers are fully liable for any duty and clearance charges that may be applied to their order by authorities in the country to which the goods are being delivered.

How do I know my order has been successful?

  • A confirmation email with the order details will be sent to the email address used on your account. If you do not receive this message/email then your order has not been submitted so you will have to resubmit.

How long does it take to process my order?

  • Order turnaround times are between 3-7 days from date of receipt.
  • We will email you on the day that your order has been despatched and will provide information on how long you can expect to wait before your order will arrive at the delivery address stated on your order

How can I track my order?

  • DHL tracking numbers will be included in your order despatch confirmation email. You may track the order yourself using the tracking facility on the DHL website or contact the sales department for an update

Do you offer any discount?

  • During certain times of the year we will offer ‘specials’ on products where prices are reduced

My account information needs to be changed, how can I update it?

  • Go to the My Account section, log in and select the appropriate option to change your contact details or other account settings

When will I be invoiced or get my receipt?

  • Invoices are sent once order has been completed.  For credit card payments an email confirmation will be sent from our secure payment services provider SEC pay

I have received incorrect/damaged items or incorrect quantities of items, what can I do?

  • Please contact us on sales@ibo.org so we can resolve the matter for you quickly.

What happens to my customer information?

  • Your account details are kept on a secure server, you will notice the padlock to be activated in the bottom right of your PC’s display.
  • Your personal details will not be passed on to any third parties for research or commercial reasons.
  • All credit card payments are sent through our payment services provider SECPay, for further information on them please visit their website www.secpay.com

My Account functionality

  • Once you are logged in, you can access the ‘My Account’ facility
  • Your most recent orders will be displayed, showing the date, method of payment and total amount.  Each of these can be seen in more detail by clicking the ‘view’ button next to the order
  • Click on “Overview” to see all of your past orders listed.  More detail can be obtained by clicking the view button next to each order
  • ‘My Account’ allows you to change the invoicing address, add or change a delivery address or change your password
  • ‘My Orders’ is another way to review your past orders ‘Email notifications’ can be used to subscribe/unsubscribe from newsletters and product notifications

How do I subscribe to IB World?

  • The IB World subscription can be found in the Subscription Services section of the store
  • Add the item to your basket and proceed with your order as normal
  • Your first issue will be despatched when the order is received and the remaining two issues will be despatched directly from the publishers when they are available

Download products

  • All individual examination papers, markschemes and prescribed book lists (PBL's) on the store are products that customers have to download.
    Download files will be in either PDF format or Zip format. You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the pdf files and Winzip to decompress the zip file.
  • File sizes can vary and it is recommended that an ADSL broadband internet connection is used whenever possible to optimize the speed of the file download. Please note, you may have to unzip some files due to their size.
  • All download files have a time limit for you to download them, this is set at ninety days from the day you order them. You will also get five opportunities to download the file within this time should you experience any technical difficulties with the download process.

Opening hours
The IB sales and marketing department is available to take calls from Mondays to Fridays between 9am to 5pm (UK local time) in the months of September to May and 9am to 4pm (UK local time) in the months of June to August.
