Choosing the right workshop
To help you select the workshop that is right for your needs, descriptions of the various workshops are available.
- PYP Programme workshop descriptions
- Inquiry and the librarian across the three IB programmes workshop descriptions:
The IB Librarians Continuum Cat 3 workshop will provide an understanding of the pedagogical and collaborative role of the school librarian in supporting educational processes in IB World Schools exploring in depth the standards and practises and other mandated roles.
The Learner Profile will be explored deeply along with International Mindedness, Teaching of Language and the culminating projects and how the library can go beyond resources and signage to develop these across all IB programmes.
The Standards and Practices (2011) will be examined in relation to the librarian role with opportunity to discuss and create improved practices with the standards and practices at the heart of the change. The new mandated role in the MYP Humanities curriculum will also be explored and how this can be embraced.
The role that the librarian plays in supporting inquiry across the IB Continuum with practical structures such as timetabling, collaboration and teaching will be explored with an opportunity to share and learn ideas from other participants on implementation and best practice.
The content of the workshop will be covered over the 3 days. The breakdown of this structure (e.g. agenda) will be decided by the workshop leader and will be presented to the participants at session 1, and subject to review due to participants’ emerging needs. Workshops begin at 8.30am, conclude at 4.30pm for Day 1 and 2, and finish at 4pm on Day 3.
