IB World Student Conferences
At each IB World Student Conference, students from around the world collaborate to develop innovative solutions to global issues.
Students hear from inspiring speakers, engaging in thoughtful inquiry focused on the conference theme, in small sessions. They also participate in excursions and recreational activities.
These experiences encourage the building of meaningful relationships with peers, and develop international understanding and leadership skills that benefit participants far beyond the conference week.
How do students benefit from the conference?
Each IBWSC has a theme with an activity and Global Action Team programme constructed around it. Speakers from around the world will challenge students with real, significant global issues. Working in Global Action Teams, students will develop creative ways to address the problems posed by conference leaders and propose solutions to these issues in the form of creativity, action, service (CAS) projects.
What do students take back to school?
Students who attend an IB World Student Conference return to their schools and communities with many new experiences to share. They not only develop leadership skills and meet other like-minded students, but also have the opportunity to interact with university faculty and world-renowned speakers representing a wide variety of disciplines and areas of expertise. These skills and experiences are designed to inspire students in the creation of action plans that are theme-based and can be implemented in their local communities.
