Projects in focus

A few of the IB projects that present current funding opportunities for donors are briefly described below. For further details on any of these and other funding opportunities, please contact the IB development office at ibdevelopment@ibo.org.

IB Association

Four students sittingThe IB is in the process of setting up a pilot for creating an IB Association to bring together members of the IB community. The purpose is to connect the IB community and to foster support for making IB education available to more students.

IB Grant

IB Grant, which provides short-term grants for schools experiencing financial challenges or wanting to increase access to IB programmes. A Grant committee makes recommendations to the director general about grants to schools from this fund.

Diploma Programme Online

The creation of an online version of the Diploma Programme has been identified as a means of supporting schools by extending the range of subjects available to students and also reaching out to new communities of students that cannot physically attend an IB World School. This will enable more students to experience and benefit from an IB education regardless of personal circumstances.

Schools to Schools

The Schools To Schools network was founded following the Asian tsunami in December 2004. It was set up to encourage IB World Schools to establish long-term links with schools in the tsunami-affected region in order to offer support and facilitate reconstruction. However, the network has now expanded to include any project aimed at improving access to an education.
