The IB in

Heads Council

Consisting of 12 members, this council serves as an advisory group to the director general to assist him with issues that affect IB World Schools.

Members are elected by IB World School heads with three members from each IB region.

Regional Councils

With one council per region, they serve as a strategic advisory board for the regional director and provide information and assistance related to IB issues in various parts of the region.

There are 13 members in each council, elected by the Regional Council:

  • six heads of IB World Schools
    • two from nominations from the Heads Council
    • four from nominations from heads in the region
  • seven other members bringing a wide range of skills and experience based on the strategic needs of the region.
