Recognition of IB diploma for admission to universities and colleges

MINISTERIAL RESOLUTIONS FOR PARTICIPATING SCHOOLS IN THE COUNTRY. Although there is no official resolution on the IB, all students from the Colegio Internacional de Caracas have been able to take, since 1989, special examinations to validate their studies in the school and so receive their Venezuelan baccalaureate. MINISTERIAL RESOLUTIONS FOR IB GRADUATES FROM OVERSEAS. The IB diploma obtained overseas is recognised as equivalent to a Venezuelan high school diploma provided that the student coming from outside the country has satisfactorily completed the first three years of high school in the Venezuelan system (Ministerial decree 31667 published in the official gazette in February 1979). A legalised diploma must be presented and examinations passed in Venezuelan geography, history, spanish and literature in spanish. Procedure for the legalisation of an IB diploma in spanish: I. Public Notary in Geneva II. State Chancery in Geneva III. Venezuelan Consulate in Switzerland The IB diploma must be accompanied by a transcript in spanish from the particiating school, together with a statement that the student took the full IB diploma. These documents should be legalised in the same manner described above. These documents should be in Venezuela no later than 31 July and consequently the Early Results Service will be needed. All documentation should be presented to the Direccion de Apoyo Docente in the Ministry of Education in Caracas, together with a photocopy of the ministerial decree on the IB.
