Recognition of IB diploma for admission to universities and colleges

After close consultations and scrutiny of documents with relevant bodies in Addis Ababa University and other Higher Institutions, members of the National Committee for recruitment and placement of students on its conse- cutive meetings of the 2nd and 3rd Tikemet 16 & 23, 1986 E.C. (12 & 13 October 1986) accepted the IB as generally satisfying the requirements for admission to higher education.

However, it should be recognised that we give priority to our National Exam (E.S.L.C.E.) and admissions to certain institutes depend on other criteria set by respective institutes.

Admissions to Institutes of Higher Education will depend on the thorough examination of academic credentials by the National Committee and the availability of vacancies in the applicant's areas of interest.
