Fees for authorized schools
Each year, an International Baccalaureate® (IB) World School pays a fee for each programme they are authorised to teach; and, according to when they were authorized, pay certain one-off fees for other purposes.
The fees below apply only to fully authorized IB World Schools. If you are a representative of a school currently a candidate for authorization, or of a school wishing to understand the fees associated with beginning the process of becoming an IB World School, please see our fees for candidate schools.

Annual school fee
There is only one annual fee, per programme, associated with being an IB World School.
Fees for 2016-17
The fees for the next academic year, beginning September 2016, are below. These fees are valid until August 2017.
|Annual school fee||USD||CHF||GBP||SGD||EUR|
|Middle Years Programme||9,800||11,960||5,825||11,540||6,920|
|Primary Years Programme||8,310||10,130||4,935||9,785||5,865|
*For schools that offer the DP in conjunction
Beyond 2016: CP fees
Beginning in 2018 there will be two ways for schools to offer the CP.
Schools aready offering the DP will continue to pay the amount in the above chart - but schools will also be able to offer the CP without being authorized to offer the DP.
To reflect this change, there will be a separate fee structure for schools offering the CP without the DP, as reflected in the table below.
|CP 2 Annual Fee||USD||EUR||CHF||GBP||SGD|
If you have any questions about implementing the CP, or the fee structure for the standalone programme, please contact the development team in your regional office.
Discounts on the annual school fee (for authorized schools)
If a school offers a combination of the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP) - or offers all three - that school pays a reduced fee, to reflect their commitment to the IB.
The discount a school receives depends on the number of programmes they offer. If a school offers two programmes from the above list, the school is given a 10% discount on the lowest single programme fee they would otherwise pay; if the school teaches all three programmes listed above, the discount is 10% on the combined cost of the two lowest programme fees.
Below, we have outlined some examples of how this might work. As the information is illustrative, it is displayed in US dollars (USD) only.
|Examples of combined |
|Annual fee with|
|Annual saving |
|School offering PYP and MYP||16,580||810|
|School offering PYP and DP||18,390||810|

The annual school fee is the only fee charged each year to IB World Schools. However, there are other fees and services available, such as consultation visits. The IB also conducts periodic evaluation visits, which have a fee attached.
